My New Vampire Obsession & Celebrity Crush

I was very late in finding my new vampire obsession. I put it off for years, thinking I wouldn't enjoy it because it was based on young adult books. I like badass vamps that bite - and kill - but are still sexy. The last thing I wanted was to watch another Twilight. But one day, a few weeks ago, I gave in and started watching the previous seasons of The Vampire Diaries on Netflix. And let me say, NOW I KNOW WHAT ALL THE FUSS IS ABOUT! How on earth did I not watch this show sooner? I became obsessed quickly, devouring the first four seasons in about two and a half weeks. Now I'm caught up on the fifth - and current - season. This may have been about teens, but there was no lack of biting and killing, no sparkly vampires, and no shortage of sexy, badass characters.

Of course, I'm like a lot of other people in that there was one thing - one person, actually - that truly sucked me in. (pun intended) Yes, I am TEAM DAMON, and therefore, my new celebrity crush is... IAN SOMERHALDER. So what did I do after realizing how hot and sexy this guy is? I did what any fangirl would and checked out his online presence and watched some interviews. I'm always worried when I do this because I'm afraid I'll find out the guy is an ass in real life. But, as his other fans have already known for years, Ian is funny, flirtatious, charming, and caring. He loves his fans and never misses a chance to thank them and show that love. Please forgive me for not understanding sooner how amazing this show is. To make up for it, below are some sexy pics of Ian, and a couple with Nina and Paul included. Oh, and I wasn't sure what I would name my Dodge Challenger when I hopefully get it next year, but now I know. I already named my motorcycle for one of my vamps, Bastian, and couldn't decide what to name my car. I thought about Lestat, Mick (as in vampire Mick St. John), and the names of some of my other vamps. Now there is no question. My Challenger will be named DAMON! It will be black with chrome accents and rims, tinted windows, and a spoiler. I think this name will be perfect for it.

I was the same as you. Held off on watching Vampire Diaries for years, because of the teen books and Twilight idiocy. Then I was bored one afternoon and booted up netflix and sold my soul :D Watched all the seasons in about three weeks - housework be damned! - and like you, I'm Team Damon all the way. Although I will admit I preferred Damon in the early series, he's lost a lot of his bite and unpredictability these days. For a while I thought Klaus might take over - he's fantastic in Vampire Daries, but I'm finding him very watered down in The Originals which is disappointing.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Lisa. I'm glad to know I wasn't the only hold out. I'll agree that I miss Damon's edge, but these last few episodes have been better in that respect. Yeah, I was thinking the same with Klaus, but I haven't watched The Originals to know how he is now.
